Diodes Incorporated is seeking a full‑time equipment engineer to join our talented manufacturing team. The position requires a flexible schedule and occasional overtime. The engineer will be responsible for future planning, project execution, improving operational efficiency, ensuring a safe working environment, and periodic maintenance and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
40‑hour work week, Monday through Friday, with required hours to keep the assigned area running as smoothly as possible.
Work in a clean room environment that requires the wearing of a smock, hood, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses.
Follow all safety documentation, specs, and protocols, including LOTO, and identify and eliminate safety concerns and regulatory violations.
Maintain a high quality standard for all equipment operations and outputs.
Collect and analyze data (SPC, FDC, OLPMs) to make data‑based decisions and determine root causes for equipment excursions.
Identify abnormal tool conditions and execute corrective actions.
Direct own work at a high level and demonstrate advanced leadership skills for small teams.
Serve as a subject matter expert for the assigned area.
Apply technical knowledge of the equipment and subsystems within the assigned area, including electromechanical, electro‑pneumatic, RF delivery, chemicals and gas delivery, and vacuum systems.
Develop sufficient process knowledge to understand recipes, FDC signals, and expected process outputs.
Seek out and develop equipment efficiency improvements.
Apply strong structured problem‑solving skills.
Develop schedules for equipment installations and work with OEMs and in‑house resources to achieve project milestones.
Mentor technicians on new procedures and equipment troubleshooting.
Maintain equipment preventive maintenance procedures.
Perform troubleshooting that may involve airline respirators, PPE, hazardous gases and chemicals, high voltages and temperatures, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Review tool histories for all area tools, identify common themes, propose improvements or repairs, and execute them.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
B.S. in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline, or Military Equivalent.
Demonstrable equipment engineering skills and experience.
Strong semiconductor equipment knowledge.
Comfortable handling chemicals (acids, bases, solvents) and gases.
Ability to troubleshoot subsystems including electromechanical, electro‑pneumatic, RF delivery, chemical and gas delivery, and vacuum systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Collaborative team player.
Willingness to work outside normal schedule as needed.
