Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures, and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub‑systems for high‑performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini‑Circuits’ products are used in wired and wireless communications, detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military, automotive, medical and industrial test equipment.

Mini‑Circuits sells its products to over 20,000 customers worldwide through a direct sales force, application engineering staff, sales representatives and an extensive website.

Position Summary The Senior Buyer is responsible for end‑to‑end Procure‑to‑Pay activities, including strategic sourcing support, supplier and PO management, negotiations and maintaining purchasing data integrity. The role ensures supply continuity for an assigned group of materials and collaborates cross‑functionally with Strategic Sourcing, Planning, Engineering, Quality, AP and other stakeholders to support new product introductions, resolve material issues and drive process improvement.

Salary: $84,500 – $105,000 per year

Responsibilities

Managing supplier relationships and negotiations to obtain optimum prices, terms and lead times.

Managing the PO lifecycle (requisition processing, PO creation, supplier order confirmation, response to MRP signals, expedites, pushouts, cancellations, and maintaining accurate dates in the ERP).

Engaging suppliers and following up on POs, invoices and necessary documentation.

Independently managing assigned sub‑commodities and supporting Strategic Sourcing activities such as commodity strategy development and implementation, and executing strategic projects.

Leading key purchasing initiatives and providing guidance and support to other Buyers.

Supporting purchasing activities for New Product Introduction (NPI).

Ensuring supply continuity and resolving supply challenges by working with suppliers and internal stakeholders such as Strategic Sourcing Managers, Planning, Quality, Incoming Materials Management, Finance/AP, Engineering, Logistics, etc.

Managing the quotation lifecycle (initiate RFP/RFQ/RFI, obtain supplier responses and maintain quotes and price files in the ERP).

Collecting and maintaining supply chain information (supplier profiles, MRP parameters such as lead times, minimum order quantities, etc.) in the ERP.

Supporting the purchasing process and system improvements by working with the Purchasing Manager, Buyers and other stakeholders.

Driving continuous improvement of purchasing and supplier KPIs and periodic reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, engineering or a related field.

Strong experience (3‑5 years) in Purchasing with exposure to Strategic Sourcing / Commodity Management.

Experience with engineering or technical requirements and bills of materials (BOMs).

Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Effective negotiation skills and strong analytical skills.

Professional attitude, adaptability and ability to work independently with a strong sense of customer service.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Prior experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Infor, Oracle, JDE, etc.

Expertise in procurement of relevant commodities such as active and passive electronic components, cables, machined parts and/or semiconductors.

Exposure to the semiconductor, RF / microwave electronics industry would be a significant plus.

Physical Demands Employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms and must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
