Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification)
High school diploma or GED and 1 year of work related experience.
Knowledge of Groupwise and Microsoft Office software i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree and 1 to 3 years of work related experience, including 2 years of Juvenile Court work experience.
Special Working Conditions and/or Hazards
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
Job Duties
Provides administrative support to the Chief Magistrate and Magistrates Department; performs a variety of administrative support functions to ensure efficient operation of department; maintains information of a confidential or sensitive nature; performs complex and routine administrative and secretarial duties (i.e., maintains calendars, schedules meetings, arranges conference travel; creates, updates and organizes contact file; composes routine correspondence; scans, forwards and electronically files documents as requested).
Performs complex and routine reception duties (e.g., greets visitors entering department; assists customers with questions; provides information about department processes and procedures; utilizes computer to create a variety of material from rough drafts, recordings, written or oral instructions; receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail; receives and forwards incoming telephone calls; reproduces, files and distributes documents).
Organizes filing in the administrative area; assists with the coordination of record keeping for office and electronically storing documentation for reference purposes.
Completes administrative projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

Must possess analytical skills/abilities, which include: Ability to assess a situation, seek multiple perspectives, and, if necessary, gather more information to arrive at an appropriate solution; Ability to plan and perform technical work; Ability to use logical problem‑solving skills and initiative in order to address issues.
Must possess clerical/administrative skills/abilities, which include: Exceptional clerical abilities (i.e. data‑entry, filing, scanning, etc.); Ability to type accurately and efficiently in a variety of systems, write legibly and demonstrate excellent clerical skills.
Must possess computer/technical skills/abilities, which include: proficiency in Groupwise and Microsoft Office software i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn other software programs including JCMS.
Must possess project/process management skills/abilities, which include: Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
Must possess written and oral communication skills/abilities, which include: Ability to communicate professionally, courteously, and effectively in person, in writing and over the phone; Ability to maintain positive, professional working relationships with associates, supervisors, officials and the general public; Ability to train clerical staff.
Must possess job knowledge, which includes: Knowledge of the Ohio Revised Code, Juvenile Court policies and procedures.
