Quality Manager - Plastics Manufacturing

Position Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the client’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures that quality standards are consistently met across all products, processes, and suppliers, in compliance with customer, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that the Quality Management System (QMS) complies with customer, internal, ISO 9001, and all applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
Evaluate, monitor, and report on vendor quality systems to ensure supplier compliance and performance.
Oversee inspection and verification of incoming materials to confirm they meet established quality requirements.
Manage the monitoring, measurement, and continuous improvement of internal processes that impact product quality.
Lead and develop a team of Quality Inspectors.
Collaborate with customers, employees, contractors, and external partners to define and refine product quality requirements.
Report to senior management on QMS performance, including audit results, corrective actions, and opportunities for improvement.
Organize and conduct periodic management review meetings to assess QMS effectiveness and drive strategic quality initiatives.
Oversee and coordinate product recall processes when necessary.
Ensure the timely inspection, calibration, and accuracy of all monitoring and measuring equipment.
Stay informed on current industry standards, regulations, and quality-related developments.
Work closely with Production and Quality Assurance teams to provide feedback on assembly accuracy and process improvements.
Review Product History Records (PHRs) and related documentation for compliance with established procedures and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Participate in Kaizen and 5S activities to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant manufacturing experience; experience in plastic injection molding is highly desirable.
Proven supervisory and management experience.
Strong understanding of ISO standards, Kaizen principles, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
Experience developing and documenting procedures within a regulated environment.
Proficiency in Quality Engineering methods and inspection techniques.
Strong computer and data analysis skills.
