Your Next Opportunity The Manager of Procurement is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective supply chain within the assigned region. You will execute procurement transactions, plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review work of staff responsible for procurement, including technical and specialized procurement of supplies, equipment, and services. As an integral part of the regional management team, you will interface with corporate procurement to advance objectives and initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Facilitate the up‑flow of regional project estimates, bid and award information to the corporate procurement team for coordination with national account partners.

Coordinate group purchases within the region between divisions and corporate.

Support corporate initiatives with regional team members (procurement, field, PM, estimating, and operational leadership).

Support the local lead estimator on lighting, gear, technical material packages, and commodity quotations.

Work with Business Development to ensure appropriate vendors are engaged for budgeting or design‑build proposals.

Review and provide final sign‑off on Lump Sum Purchase Orders (gear, lighting, control, generator, etc.) and coordinate purchase with corporate procurement.

Evaluate and communicate new product introductions to field, PM, estimating, and operational leadership, coordinating presentations with manufacturers, reps, and distributors.

Provide market product data (price, availability, market trend) to operations.

Interpret and communicate procurement procedures, assist departments in initiating requisitions and orders, and resolve order issues.

Maintain departmental policies and procedures, and report minority business participation.

Represent the department at meetings with management, staff, vendors, external agencies, and professional organizations.

Directly supervise regional/divisional procurement department employees, including performance evaluations, mentorship, coaching, and training.

Serve as relationship manager for regional vendor partners (distributors, rep agencies, manufacturers, rental companies, OEMs).

Maintain contact with vendors regarding orders, merchandise, new products, and market conditions.

Interview sales representatives and vendors to develop new sources of supplies and secure favorable terms for Rosendin.

Identify WMBE firms as potential suppliers.

Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, e.g., price, availability, delivery schedule, evaluating quality and appropriateness of supplies and equipment, performing cost/quality comparisons prior to purchase.

Prepare and distribute complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposal, including logistics, warehousing, kitting, cutting, and packaging requirements.

Process difficult and unique purchasing transactions according to state laws, federal statutes, and Rosendin policies.

Assist departments with specification development and draft RFPs.

Review, analyze, and approve purchases where an award is not made to the lowest bidder to ensure justification and policy compliance.

Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of deficiency and take corrective action.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

Negotiating, networking, and dealing with numbers, sustainability, risk management, and ethical issues.

Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction.

Experience with procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must exhibit supervisory skills.

Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.

Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as needed.

Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.

Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.

What You Bring To Us

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 10 years’ purchasing experience in electrical.

Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Travel

Up to 35% initially, may decrease over time.

Working Conditions

Long periods of sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending – primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

Noise level usually low to medium; possibly loud on job sites.

Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
