Position Summary Performs nondestructive testing to determine the existence of flaws, discontinuities, leaks, contamination, thermal anomalies or imperfections in aircraft materials, components or assemblies without impairing the integrity or function of the inspected component.
Conducts test activities and records results in accordance with established testing plan and specifications. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles test equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals and schematics. May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
Responsibilities
Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures.
Conduct a variety of Non‑Destructive Tests, including liquid penetration inspection (PT) and radiography testing (RT).
Interpret and complete the process controls required for radiographic inspection (e.g., proper lighting, temperature, system performance evaluations).
Set up and operate radiation devices and digital detector array X‑ray systems.
Interpret radiographic film and document inspection results, developing inspection techniques as derived from processing procedures, codes and specifications.
Acquire and interpret digital and conventional radiographs by industry standards and internal and external specifications.
Maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedules and additional hours as required.
Interpret and complete the process controls required for penetrant inspection, such as proper lighting, temperatures and system performance evaluations.
Process parts through the complete penetrant inspection cycle and document liquid penetrant inspection results.
Be familiar with the scope and limitations of the liquid penetrant method and perform liquid penetrant inspection in accordance with industry standards.
Inspect, test or evaluate materials, components or assemblies for discontinuities or differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system using methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Vibration Analysis (VA) and Visual Testing (VT).
Review and write procedures, prep work for audits and participate in internal and external audits.
X‑Ray (RT)
Must have ASNT‑TC1A‑410 requirements.
32 hours for Penetrant.
40 hours for X‑Ray Level I.
40 hours for X‑Ray Level II.
Qualifications 4+ years of NDT experience as a certified technician. Radiographic testing (RT). 1600 penetrant logged hours (level II) per NAS410. Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing background. Certification in radiation safety, such as ASNT IRRSP Radiation Safety certification. Experience with welding, heat treating, machining and assembly processes and procedures.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Years of experience: 4+ years of relevant experience.
Certifications
Vocational training, apprenticeships or equivalent experience in related field.

Compensation Pay Range: $33.35/hr to $55.60/hr (plus shift premium). Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
