Our Junior Gymnastics Coaches bring imagination and joy to every class—teaching fundamental movement skills, building body awareness, and nurturing a love for active play in our youngest athletes (ages 9 months to 5 years).
If you love connecting with children, singing silly songs, and turning skill-building into fun early-stage gymnastic adventures, you’ll thrive in this role. No experience is needed – we will provide all the training and mentorship you need to succeed in our supportive, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for preschool children ages 9 months to 5 years. Create a welcoming and supportive class environment aligned with Dominique Dawes Academy’s philosophy of holistic child development. Follow class plans, skill progressions, and safety protocols provided by the academy’s leadership team. Provide age-appropriate instruction that challenges athletes while encouraging progress and fun. Offer verbal and physical spotting and corrections to ensure skill development and safety. Positively engage with parents before and after classes to provide feedback and build community. Maintain a clean and organized training space and assist in setting up/taking down equipment as needed. Monitor kids closely and respond promptly to injuries or safety concerns, following gym protocols. Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions and rotations. Attend required staff training sessions, team meetings, and seasonal evaluations. Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence in all interactions. Perform other duties as assigned. Core Competencies

Minimum age: 16 years old. No prior experience is required; however, experience working with children in instructional, athletic, or recreational settings is a plus. Background as a student of gymnastics, cheer, dance, or another movement-based discipline is a plus. CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification provided by the company. Work Schedule & Environment
Must be available to work weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. Must be available for a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year. Classes are held in an indoor gym environment with frequent interaction with children and families. Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate physical skills and actively engage with students. Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, and moving equipment. Must be able to spot athletes safely and provide physical assistance as needed. Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and work in a physically active, fast-paced environment.
