Summary of Responsibilities

Design and teach courses in the field of study.

Plan, prepare, and follow an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught.

Prepare instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, exams, mock‑ups, visual aids, and instruction sheets) as necessary.

Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and shops by using appropriate teaching methods.

Evaluate instruction and learning by means of appropriate testing methods.

Maintain a student‑oriented approach to education.

Recommend students for advancement and graduation.

Maintain and submit accurate and current reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow‑up.

Coordinate cooperative work experience programs and students as assigned.

Assist counselors, department chairperson, program coordinator, faculty, and department staff in maintaining an effective program.

Be thoroughly familiar with the academic freedom and professional responsibility statement and adhere to these policies.

Maintain a safe laboratory, shop, and classroom conditions.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Master’s degree in business, Hospitality Management, or a related field (or working toward a master’s by end of 2025).

Minimum of 3–5 years of real‑world experience.

Experience teaching or mentoring students in a classroom or workshop.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to guide students through real‑world projects, startup simulations, or capstone experiences.

Familiarity with project‑based learning and experiential teaching methods.

Passion for mentoring students and fostering creativity, resilience, and innovation.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Extensive knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.

Extensive knowledge of evaluation of instruction, curriculum development, program development, and evaluation.

Thorough knowledge of the appropriate field of study.

Knowledge of work experience programs (if appropriate for assignment).

Skill in public speaking and report writing.

Effective human relations skills and communication techniques.

Knowledge of the management of resources for products, production, or services within an organization.

Ability to apply effectively general principles to specific conditions.

Ability to follow written and oral procedures and instructions.

Ability to work effectively with people.

Extensive knowledge of subject matter and course content of classes to be taught, instructional strategies, and techniques.
