Overview

Primarily responsible for programs, sets up and operates Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) in order to make complex, precise measurements of the parts. Performs visual and dimensional inspection on parts to determine their accuracy to specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following : Other duties may be assigned. Sets up and operates CMM in order to make complex, precise measurement of parts. Reads and interprets specifications, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product tolerances and dimensions. Writes or modifies existing programs or creates new ones. Verifies measurement conformance of parts to specifications and/or blueprints. Provides manufacturing with 1st piece and in process data to ensure part conformance. Interprets measurement output data and graphic data. Knowledge and ability to program CMM’s using PC-DMIS software. Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and other technical data including geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Proficient in coordinate measuring machine techniques and application. Strong mathematical and mechanical skills. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC equipment and quality standards. Skilled in use of precision measuring tools. Must have problem solving skills Qualifications

Education and Experience

Must have 5 years experience using PC-DMIS software preferred. 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong GD&T/blueprint reading skills, excellent communication skills, written/verbal. Proficient in use of precision measuring tools preferred. Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, occasionally required to stand, bend, reach and move about the quality lab. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. Additional Information
