Catering Banquet Server . As a key player in our culinary events, you'll elevate our members' and guests' experiences by delivering exceptional service with a smile. You’ll be the face of our culinary events, ensuring seamless service and unforgettable experiences for our members and guests.
This is a part‑time and fully on‑site position at our club in Portland, OR.
What You’ll Do
Provide Exceptional Service: Deliver top‑notch service during catering functions. Your friendly and professional approach will leave a lasting impression.
Perform Set‑Up and Take‑Down: Set up food and beverage stations, guest tables, and event areas before guests arrive, and ensure a swift and organized take‑down afterward.
Execute Orders: Take food orders and relay them to the kitchen, ensuring they are filled promptly and accurately. Monitor food distribution and address special dietary needs.
Coordinate Events: Collaborate with the Banquet Captain or Catering Manager to ensure smooth event execution. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and suggest improvements.
Adhere to Safety Standards: Maintain a safe and clean environment around the catering areas.
Be Flexible: Work with the team on a variety of events, sometimes managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
Continuously Learn: Stay informed about the club's offerings to answer guest questions and attend training classes to enhance your skills.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; working knowledge of food and beverage service operations and prior experience in private dining or banquets.
Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment.
Certification: Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card and OLCC Service Permit.
Physical Requirements & Availability: Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds or more; flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and specific holidays such as Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, and the Annual Meeting.
