Description Seeking an experienced Analog/Power systems design engineer for developing complex analog mixed signal and power system solutions for Industrial Control, Industrial Power, Isolation, and other Infrastructure applications. This group is at the forefront of the EV and AI revolution, working to develop technologies that will revolutionize power conversion in vehicles and datacenters and enable new levels of power efficiency. The position requires a deep HVIC design background including a strong history of innovative product definition and design. The desired individual will participate in product roadmaps, definition, technology selection, design, and verification. The individual will have a role in defining and implementing the overall system architecture, system modeling, identifying product requirements, designing transistor-level circuit blocks, simulating system performance and assisting with reference designs. Responsibilities will also include detailed documentation, silicon evaluation and debugging, production test development support, customer support, and other activities as required to achieve high volume production.

Responsibilities

Performs system teardown analysis, system level modeling including FET modeling

Defines product requirements and aids prototyping of systems prior to design

Architects, designs and verifies circuits, systems, algorithms, etc. to meet product requirements

Develops innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secrets

Demonstrates good judgment in solving a broad range of issues, based on an advanced understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures

Responsible for custom layout including overseeing the work of layout designers

Reports on design results through design reviews

Attends design reviews to provide input and learn from other designers’ experiences

Sets the example for more junior members on the technical team by thoughtful use of quantitative analysis and intuition to solve mixed signal problems of advanced complexity

Research advances in power system technologies through technical publications and seminars

Required Experience and Skills Preferred Educational Background

BSEE + 12 years experience

MSEE + 10 years experience

PhD EE + 6 years experience

Minimum Requirements

Advanced knowledge of device physics and CMOS/BiCMOS fabrication processes

Previous design experience with power systems and complex mixed signal problems

System level knowledge and hands on experience in AC/DC and DC/DC power converters

Advanced knowledge of MOS transistors, analog circuit design and PMIC design

Deep understanding of control and feedback analysis of power conversion systems

Experience with end-to-end design flow from product definition to high volume manufacturing including support of production test, applications validation and manufacturing problem solving

Advanced understanding of both board and IC layout tradeoffs for performance and size

Strong knowledge of circuit simulation tools, layout verification tools, modeling tools, and UNIX

Desired Experience and Skills

Experience with prototyping, production scope and requirement identification

Deep understanding of radiated and conducted immunity and emissions and building products that have robustness to EMC

Knowledge of high voltage processes and design in BCD and/or SOI type processes

Previous design experience with integrated power conversion circuits (DC-DC/Power converters, charge-pumps, LDOs, rectifiers, amplifiers)

Advanced MOS Device modeling skills (noise, excess thermal noise, DIBL)

Knowledge of functioning and modeling of High power, high voltage FET types

System knowledge (e.g., isolators) and advanced design skills in system modeling

Understanding of mixed signal solutions including discrete time digital signal processing

Familiarity with quality systems documentation and procedures

Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$129,400 -$247,800 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
