Test Engineer – 100% onsite in Bohemia, NY Salary range: $80,000–$100,000. This position requires a U.S. Person or a person who can qualify for a department of state or commercial license.
Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, upgrade, and troubleshoot production test equipment ranging from small manual fixtures to large automated test stands.
Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, and AC/DC power supplies.
Read and understand electronic schematics; capable of drawing schematics in Cadence OrCAD.
Good problem‑solving skills; report and respond to test equipment failures in a timely manner.
Maintain test documentation and procedures; install and update test hardware and software.
Experience with CAN, I2C, GPIB, RS485, and RS232 communications.
Read and write test code using Visual Basic, C++, and C#.
Strong Microsoft Office skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Self‑motivated, conscientious, reliable, responsible, and a good decision maker.
Bonus: experience designing test equipment.
Educational Requirements
Minimum 2‑year degree in Engineering Technology with an electronics focus; 4‑year degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering is preferred.
At least 2 years of related work experience including:
Fabricating prototype circuits from schematics.
Testing and troubleshooting complex test stations.
Basic AC, DC, and semiconductor circuit theory.
Utilizing lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, and AC/DC power supplies.
