Position Summary The Human Nutrition division of Archer Daniels Midland is searching for a Central Sales Account Manager.
This is an entry-level position that will provide exposure and development in prospecting, quoting, negotiation, product applications, virtual selling, and other sales & marketing activities.
Success in the role will allow for advancement through the Nutrition Commercial Organization which includes pathways into Senior Sales, Marketing and Business Management within ADM.
The position will report directly to the Director of Central Sales and will be located in Erlanger, KY.
Incumbent Responsibilities
Work as part of a fast paced, complex sales environment with a high level of drive to excel while sharing willingness to learn among the larger sales group.
Sourcing and managing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound communication while promoting the entire ADM Nutrition portfolio of ingredients for all targeted market segments.
Develop rapport with broader sales team while actively identifying the appropriate placement for new customer leads based on overall product opportunity.
Customer management responsibility with sample/opportunity entry, project management, and lead follow up.
Maintain working relationships with all cross functional support teams including CD&D, Regulatory, Customer Service, Procurement, Legal, etc.
Implement and execute an aggressive, proactive call schedule to increase customer connectivity with sales team.
Use web based reporting tools to improve overall sales effectiveness.
Maintain thorough product knowledge of all nutrition ingredients.
Lead all post‑sale administration efforts.
Job Responsibilities
Prepares targeted approach and process to effectively execute sales leads and prospect opportunities.
Act as a power user of customer relationship management systems allowing for management of customer pertinent activity while managing and updating customer activity.
Assist in communication and customer support to all assigned team based customers.
Maintains accurate records of all quotes, sales activity reports and contract balances.
Provide detailed reporting to sales leadership through the use of Salesforce.com and other analytical tools.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
Maintain constant contact with all potential customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements
An undergraduate degree is required.
A minimum of 2 years sales experience.
Ability to build new and existing relationships with key customers, cross‑functional team members, and sales organization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated skill using a CRM system such as Salesforce.com.
Teamwork skills – ability to share ideas, work with and assist other members to ensure the success of the team.
Strong organization, time management and negotiation skills.
Availability to travel within continental North America is required.
Position located in Erlanger, KY.
ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
At hire, employees will be in an “at‑will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $51,600.00 and $90,400.00.
Salaried Incentive Plan The total compensation package for this position will also include an annual bonus.
