Job Summary
In addition to marketing the University of West Georgia to prospective students, parents, secondary school personnel, high school counselors, senior high school administrators, and organizations involved in the college selection process, this position also counsels and advises each of those constituents on the Undergraduate Admissions process. The position will additionally be responsible for a specific recruitment territory and the management of that territory through the development of a territory‑specific strategic recruitment plan with activities meant to take prospective students through the enrollment funnel from prospect to enrolled. This will include extensive travel including overnight and weekends, which will require autonomy and self‑accountability.
Responsibilities
Counseling and advising given to persons at all stages of the enrollment funnel, including prospects (cold leads), applicants, accepted students, and those students who are denied admission; prospective students will be counseled and advised on the college search process and the benefits of attending UWG; applicants will be counseled advised on how to apply for college and specifically on completing their UWG application; accepted students will be counseled and advised on the next steps of enrollment, including providing them a guiding hand on applying for Financial Aid, registering for Orientation, and completing their Housing contract; denied students will be counseled and advised on alternative options to Going West, including programs like West in 30 and appeals.
Markets the University to prospective students, parents, secondary school personnel and organizations involved in the college selection process through extensive travel to high schools, college fairs, and civic organizations across the state and through on campus and off campus presentations ranging in size from individual family visits to large scaled audiences (often several hundred). Candidates performance, overall, will be measured on meeting specific enrollment goals.
Develops and implements a strategic plan for growing a recruitment territory (specific to them) including travel to their territories, drop‑ins, direct phone calls, texts, social media, and emails in order to encourage application and enrollment; including Hispanic and Latinx Ambassadors and specific Hispanic and Latinx recruitment events and necessary translated information. These duties take place in a high paced environment with a focus on innovation and diversifying the opportunities for selling UWG to prospective students and parents, while focusing on attaining assigned enrollment goals.
Supervision and development of Student Recruitment Team student liaison. Responsible for training student and providing daily supervision to student to help with overall recruitment efforts of the Undergraduate Admissions team.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
Other Required Qualifications:
Driver’s License.
Required Experience:
Experience working with a diverse group of people and an ability to present a positive image for the University required. Must be adaptable to rapid‑paced environment and possess a considerable degree of flexibility. The candidate for this position must be a goal driven, self‑starter, capable of working independently while serving as the lead consultant on the day‑to‑day recruitment efforts related to UWG and must have exemplary interpersonal/communication skills. Travel is necessary and personal vehicle use is occasionally required.

One year of admissions experience. Familiarity with Recruit, Banner, or similar system.
Proposed Salary $43,500 Annually. To be paid on a monthly basis.
