Diocesan Director of Hispanic Ministry – Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte Apply to serve as the Diocesan Director of Hispanic Ministry, leading coordination of all Hispanic ministry across the Diocese of Charlotte. This role promotes full participation and inclusion of Hispanic Catholics in parish life and the universal Church, collaborating with clergy and diocese leadership to meet pastoral needs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and direct all Hispanic Ministry programs within the Office of Hispanic Ministry.

Prepare and present a report on department activities at the diocesan Curial Cabinet twice‑monthly meetings.

Represent the Diocese of Charlotte at regional and national meetings.

Implement the National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry in collaboration with diocesan pastoral initiatives and parish planning.

Collaborate with the bishop’s mission and vision, ensuring effective communication and spiritual development across the ministry.

Meet regularly with local Hispanic ministry leaders to assess needs and coordinate diocesan efforts.

Develop pastoral programs—leader formation, evangelization, catechesis, and discipleship—alongside local leaders, and support volunteers and coordinators with resources and training.

Partner with diocesan offices so that Hispanic perspectives are integrated throughout the diocese.

Provide guidance to Hispanic apostolic movements and groups within the diocese.

Prepare, maintain, and administer the Hispanic Ministry budget.

Requirements Experience

Must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with the Hispanic Catholic community at the parish level.

Two (2) or more years of experience in diocesan ministry (optional, but strongly recommended).

Skills

Complete fluency in English and Spanish (native speaker preferred).

Strong verbal and written communication in both languages; pastoral experience with diverse cultures preferred.

Strong listening, empathy, and organizational skills.

Highly organized with administrative, project‑management, and supervisory abilities.

Intermediate to advanced computer skills and familiarity with social media.

Basic knowledge of MS Office suite.

Demonstrated servant‑leader ability in crafting and implementing mission, vision, and strategy.

Working Environment

Onsite position at the Diocesan Pastoral Center.

Some evening and weekend work required; travel to diocesan locations as needed.
