Job Summary
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a skilled and motivated People Data Analyst to provide professional expertise in HR research, data analysis, and process improvement. In this role, you’ll analyze HR data, prepare reports and dashboards, and support the development of policies and procedures that strengthen workforce management across the agency. You’ll collaborate with leadership to enhance operations, improve efficiency, and drive results through meaningful HR insights.
Job Duties
- Gather, analyze, and prepare reports on HR metrics for agency management
- Extract and format data from the Human Resources Information Solution (AZ360)
- Create and maintain databases, spreadsheets, dashboards, and forms using various computer/web applications
- Combine volumes of data from various sources to ensure accuracy
- Collaborate with internal and external resources and other agency units to accomplish assignments
- Participate in various individual and team projects
- Create project plans and expectations, and monitor and evaluate activities
- Contribute to the unit’s strategy-based goals, objectives, and results, and participate in HRDG LEAN (AMS) management process improvement initiatives
- Evaluate and recommend changes to enhance workflow, customer service, timeliness, etc.
- Document, develop, and evaluate standard work
- Assist in developing and implementing employee surveys
- Generate reports and conduct data analysis based on responses
- Assist in implementing and administering the PI suite
- Provide technical guidance and support to the HR Analytics Manager to include preparing various reports and assisting in the development of dashboards
- Serve as a back‑up to the Human Resources Analytics Unit
- Drive on State business
- Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge Of
- Research and data analysis methods and techniques, HRIS Report Writer, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, with an emphasis on spreadsheets expertise
- Project management and continuous process improvement methodologies

Selective Preference(s)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Human Resources, or a related field; or two (2) years of relevant experience
- Relevant HR Certification
- Requires expertise using complex spreadsheets and databases for analysis and reporting, and experience in project management, process improvement initiatives, and report writing
Pre‑Employment Requirements
- Employment is contingent on passing a background investigation
- Vehicle use: A valid class‑appropriate driver’s license, required training, and successful license record checks for state business
- Statutorily required liability insurance for personally owned vehicles used on state business (Arizona Administrative Code R2‑10‑207.11)
- Annual Tuberculosis (TB) test during new employee orientation and annually thereafter
- All newly hired State employees must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify)

Retirement
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment. Current ADCRR Employees: consult with your respective Human Resources Liaison if you are under a different retirement plan.
