$28.100 - $35.040 - $39.240 This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. As part of the terms of employment, employees in this role are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member for the duration of the collective bargaining agreement. The role of this position is to coordinate the continuity of services required during the patient’s episode of care in Outpatient Rehabilitation. This includes: obtaining orders and authorizations prior to initial scheduled visits and ensuring regulatory documents are signed by the M.D. prior to scheduling continued visits outlined in the therapist POC. This position will be the main contact and interface between therapist, patients and MD offices for all patients in assigned specialty programs during their course of treatment, including processing of clean accounts to ensure maximum financial reimbursement. Preferred Qualifications

3 years experience in a hospital patient registration, accounting and/or business services area AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association – PREFERRED Essential Functions

Admissions – Accurately completes all functions at point of registration; complies with Medicare and Medi-Cal billing rules Verify accurate demographic and visit data to prevent duplicates Complete and accurate insurance selection and follow-up questions Notify physicians/therapists; document Dissemination of admission forms and required signatures Check for MCARE overlapping charges Assist with prebilling functions as assigned Ensure billing compliance standards are met Check Medicare eligibility (DDE) Urgent admissions verified and authorized promptly Ensure prescription with diagnosis is available prior to first scheduled visit Organize and verify re-admitted accounts Scheduling from initial evaluation to end of care; comply with insurance regulations, CMS requirements and CA State Licensing Cross-disciplinary/co-therapy coordination and transportation scheduling Finance and billing; manage bill holds and clean bill drops; apply UB coding Make financial arrangements for self-pay, co-insurance and co-pays; reconcile co-payment batches Audit charges for all disciplines; upload charges; resolve TES edits Follow Medicare guidelines for CAP Thresholds and KX modifications Use MPV and insurance portals to verify eligibility Perform billing functions accurately; address error reports Leadership support; assist in orientation and training Cross-program coverage as needed All other related duties as assigned Access Service Representative responsibilities – patient focus in Rehab Record management and charting; maintain patient files and forward necessary documentation Produce reports as required for programs; manage accounts and scheduling reports Standards of Behavior
