Consultant (12 months, home-based) Partnerships and Advocacy Expert, Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (MSP), Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP), Geneva. Department: Global Partnerships and Advocacy, Geneva. This is a consultancy assignment with potential for travel as needed, covered by UNICEF travel policy. Purpose of Assignment
This role will provide targeted partnerships and advocacy management support to the PFP MSP team on Mental Health. Under the general guidance of the Partnerships Specialist, the consultant will lead specific partnerships and advocacy activities to advance UNICEF's strategic objectives and the goals of the Global Coalition for Youth Mental Health, ensuring alignment with advocacy and partnerships targets to maximize influence and impact. Under supervision of the Partnerships Specialist, the consultant will support the Coalition to strengthen its role as a leading platform for collective action on youth mental health through advocacy and partnerships. The work will focus on four interconnected areas in close collaboration with UNICEF divisions and other stakeholders: Membership stewardship: engage, support, and connect members to opportunities that add value to participation and UNICEF’s mandate; facilitate collaboration and maintain regular communication. Membership growth: identify and engage new organizations and partners whose expertise aligns with the Coalition’s vision; help build a diverse, representative, and sustainable membership base. Advocacy and influence: drive the Coalition’s advocacy agenda, develop advocacy products, organize joint initiatives, and ensure alignment with international processes. Communications: share Coalition achievements, impact, and member contributions with stakeholders and the public through content development, storytelling, and visibility strategies. Work Assignments

Deliverable 1: by 31 December 2025 — Engage members and colleagues to define priorities and meeting objectives; prepare speakers and facilitate the meeting with clear objectives and outcomes Deliverable 2: by 31 January 2026 — Gather and analyze coalition-wide qualitative and quantitative data; produce a concise, high-impact annual report Deliverable 3: by 28 February 2026 — Finalize and publish the Coalition Annual Report; support dissemination and promotion Deliverable 4: by 31 March 2026 — Lead organization of the Coalition Annual Meeting; produce post-meeting report with stakeholder inputs Deliverable 5: by 30 April 2026 — Finalize calendar of Mental Health Awareness Month activities; develop a member toolkit Deliverable 6: by 31 May 2026 — Provide guidance for National Committees’ activations; produce activation plans and impact report Deliverable 7: by 30 June 2026 — Prepare first draft of second annual insights study framework; collect baseline data Deliverable 8: by 31 July 2026 — Lead NC and coalition member engagement for insights study; draft analysis Deliverable 9: by 31 August 2026 — Produce final advocacy strategy for UNGA and World Mental Health Day; develop priority messages and materials Deliverable 10: by 30 September 2026 — Develop detailed logistics plan for UNGA; prepare post-event outcomes report Deliverable 11: by 31 October 2026 — Executive activation for World Mental Health Day; prepare post-activation report Deliverable 12: by 30 November 2026 — Lead consultation on progress and priorities; draft plan for Coalition Annual Meeting 2027 Workplace, Travel and Logistics
Remote/home-based consultant; travel on a per-need basis with costs reimbursed per UNICEF policy All UNICEF travel rules apply; prior written approval required; consultant must be fit to travel and hold valid insurances and vaccination documentation as applicable Qualifications
Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in International Relations, Economics, Social Sciences, Business or related fields; or a first-level degree with two additional years of relevant experience Experience: Minimum five (5) years in partnerships, communications and/or advocacy; experience in mental health or public health is an asset; prior experience with UN/UNICEF or similar is an asset; experience in engaging diverse audiences is advantageous Language: Fluency in English required; knowledge of additional UN languages is an asset Remarks
