$85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing, a well-established commercial and residential roofing contractor, has an immediate opportunity for an Accountant who is a team player and has a good understanding of roofing or general construction accounting. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with integrity, a strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence. The Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including accounts receivable, general ledger, financial statements, paying all taxes, and supervising the Bookkeeper. This position will report to the Vice President and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records. Primary Responsibilities: Calculate and pay taxes Financial close and reporting Assist with budgeting and forecasting Manage and maintain financial data and company records Supervise and mentor the Bookkeeper, providing oversight for accounts payable and payroll Required skills and qualifications: Degree in Accounting or Finance Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and, preferably, Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum Experience in construction AR, including job costing, progress billing, and using billing portals Experience with a monthly close process and account reconciliations Experience with financial reporting and analysis Knowledge of submitting payroll taxes, DOR, city taxes, quarterlies and assisting CPA with year-end taxes Excellent analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills Good management and mentoring skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to remain stationary, either standing or sitting, for extended periods or time Able to work in person in the Lakewood, WA office, Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30am–4:00pm Annual salary of $85,000–$100,000 as an exempt employee Paid time off and sick leave Health, dental, vision, life, and Aflac insurance Bonus opportunities Job details
