The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) provides expert, independent care to patients in clinical research and standard-of-care settings, with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary team, this role demands a proactive nurse dedicated to advancing research while upholding excellence in patient care and regulatory integrity. Responsibilities
Lead study coordination as the primary liaison, ensuring seamless study implementation, protocol adherence and regulatory compliance Deliver direct patient care to research participants and standard-of-care patients across various health conditions and age groups within the CRU, clinical and other community settings as required Collect and manage specimens and clinical data in accordance with study protocols Educate and advocate for research participants, ensuring informed consent and adherence to ethical guidelines Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize research execution and patient care Maintain expertise in safety regulations and compliance with institutional, federal, and local research guidelines Adapt to flexible scheduling, including days, nights, and weekends, based on CRU needs Qualifications
Ability to adapt to changing patient care needs driven by the research environment on the CRU and offsite settings Eager to learn and quickly master new procedures and technology Strong nursing foundation, including phlebotomy, IV placement, and patient assessment Minimum of three years in nursing, preferably in acute care; research experience preferred Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; computer literacy essential for daily tasks BCLS required; ACLS preferred; chemotherapy certification beneficial Excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia Bachelor of Science in Nursing required with minimum of three years in nursing, preferably in acute care; research experience preferred Work Mode
This position has been designated as on campus. Work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the University. Pay Range
The base pay range is $26.26/hr - $48.32/hr. Compensation is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and the University's needs. Benefits
