Division staff include building trades, energy and sustainability, project managers and administrative support. This position is expected to provide senior management and high-level policy and strategic direction to the Division. The Division Manager is a member of the Department’s Leadership Team, expected to contribute to the successful management of the Department and the City. Major Duties And Responsibilities

Provide vision and direction to the City in the security, operations, maintenance, repair and renovation of City-owned facilities. Key community assets include our Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (CMGC), CMPD and CFD Headquarters, and cultural facilities such as Discovery Place Science Museum, and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City executives, City Council, client Departments, business and community leaders, and the general public. Adhere to the City’s Capital Asset Policy and Sustainable Facilities Policy. Manage and motivate a group of trade professionals to provide reliable, responsive, and innovative service to the facility tenants. Oversee operating and capital budgets totaling more than $20 million. Manage facility IT software to produce Key Performance Indicators. Manage the creation of a separate BAS network that supports the city’s Sustainability program. Oversee Facility Condition Assessments on the city’s building portfolio. Evaluate and make recommendations for deferred maintenance priorities. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Facility Operations and Maintenance (building systems, O&M processes, repair and renovations) Sustainability and energy management Facility Information Management and Technology Management (technology needs assessment and implementation, data collection and information management, maintenance and upgrade of technology systems) Risk Management for City facilities (emergency preparedness, response and recovery, facility resilience and business continuity) Proficient in Project Management principles, including planning, design, execution and delivery, and evaluation Leadership skills in procedure development, team management, and conflict management Finance and business acumen in developing operational and capital budgets, procurement processes, contracting and financial analysis Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment Computer skills at the intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Products (i.e. Word, Excel, Teams) Requires a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and the ability to receive/ maintain a City of Charlotte Driving Permit. Preferred Qualifications

Prefer candidates with a four-year degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field with seven (7) years of experience. Minimum Qualifications

A four-year degree in a related field with at least five (5) years of related experience. Conditions Of Employment
