The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is recruiting a faculty member to be a board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery. General thoracic surgeons applying for this position must have the skills and interest in general thoracic surgery, exclusively, with an interest and willingness to participate in lung transplantation. The position is part of our expanding Thoracic Surgery Division. This role will offer the opportunity to work closely with all members in the Division of Thoracic Surgery. Candidates will be expected to work within the context of multidisciplinary care providers and will have clinical, teaching, administrative, and research expectations. Additional roles and positions will be available commensurate with the growth of the program. Qualified candidates will be expected to possess advanced skills in thoracic surgery as well as in lung transplantation. Advanced skills should include familiarity with all minimally invasive approaches for lung, mediastinal, esophageal, and chest wall operations including thoracoscopic, robotic and uniportal platforms. Lung transplant duties will be carried out predominantly at Keck Medical Center, with additional thoracic surgery duties involving travel and coverage of other hospitals in the greater Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
