High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a certified Phlebotomy program or equivalent Shift Details :
Primarily Days with Rotation to Eves -- Weekend and Holiday Work may be required - 8-hour shifts Job Description: Perform blood specimen collections via venipuncture, finger-stick, heel-stick (for infants) for inpatients and outpatients Identify patients correctly (name, ID bands, requisitions) and label samples accurately to ensure patient safety and correct matching of specimen to patient. Process specimens: accession orders, prepare specimens for transport to the testing lab, evaluate specimen adequacy/suitability, resolve or refer discrepancies Use laboratory information systems (LIS) / hospital computer systems: data entry of demographics, test orders, cancellations, charges/credits, maintain sample identity. Maintain supplies/inventory, monitor materials and reagents, use costeffective practices.
