What You’ll Do As a Tooling Engineer In this role, you’ll effectively evaluate, select, and specify tooling used in wire harness manufacturing. Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams ensuring tooling matches mechanical and electrical performance requirements Safeguard customer standards by identifying specific tooling required for wire harness manufacturing Specify, purchase, and maintain required tooling Generate and maintain tooling documentation in conjunction with maintenance, which includes tool part numbers, specifications, calibration and preventive maintenance intervals, and setup sheets for manufacturing process documentation Qualify and source tooling in collaboration with purchasing team Evaluate and authorize new or replacement tools Create and maintain healthy supplier relationships Qualifications
Associate’s degree in engineering and/or related field 3+ years of equivalent experience in wire harness manufacturing Basic understanding of tooling used in wire harness manufacturing Strong interpersonal, leadership, and customer contact skills Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude; MS Office; knowledge of CAD or wire harness software Competent with interpreting terminal specification sheets, tooling setup instructions, and engineering drawings What To Expect In This Role
Primarily onsite, indoors, controlled temperature environment May be required to go to customer site where the environmental conditions will vary Ability to perform essential functions of the role in a work environment with a variation of noise levels including high to moderate noise due to hand tools, machinery, heavy equipment, moving motorized vehicles, alarms, vibration, and general conversations Schedule: 1st Shift Why Kirby Risk?
