The Position
PackSmart is a growing packaging equipment and supply company looking to add a flexible and dependable General Service Technician to perform a full range of service duties ranging from in-house maintenance and tool repair. This position includes a variety of responsibilities, which provides vast experience throughout the service department. The ideal candidate would have 2+ years in service repair. As a PackSmart General Service Technician, you will support customers by performing repairs to their packaging equipment, assisting with in-house repairs (i.e. tools/machines sent to PackSmart by the customer), as well as participate in installations and demos to support machine sales for the company. Requirements
Must demonstrate the ability to repair and troubleshoot equipment issues Knowledge of mechanical and electrical (High & Low Voltages) concepts Understand the basic principles of Sensors, Switches, Relays, Servos, & PLC’s Ability to work in challenging and time-sensitive situations 1-3 years in a maintenance setting or trade school degree/certificate Valid driver’s license (Company vehicle provided) Responsibilities
Service: Complete daily in-house repairs on customers’ packaging equipment and assist with field service/warehouse
Packaging equipment including, but not limited to: Stretch Wrappers, Case Sealers, Strapping Machines/Hand Tools, Shrink Systems, Balers, Palletizers, Bagging Machine, etc.
Collaborate with the Sales Team to support machinery sales Complete large machine installation projects with other Service Technicians Perform planned maintenance on customers’ equipment Complete service tickets at the end of each service call documenting the visit, including service performed, service time, travel time and parts required. Obtain parts information and submit parts requests to Service Coordinator to aid in completing repairs Maintain On-site Demo Equipment 40-hour work week, OT as needed and optional Less than 5% overnight travel, home daily Travel of up to 8 Hours of driving daily using company vehicles Cross-training on various duties within the service and warehouse environment Benefits
