About the Opportunity This role supports the Nuclear Oversight Deptartment by developing or providing technical advice relating to the development of operating / production processes, arrangement and methods required to satisfy the demands of nuclear regulation and capability. The Senior Engineer will also coordinate with internal/external experts and capability partners during nuclear licensing phases and contribute to regulatory documentation. This role is pivotal to the establishment of ASC capability to meet obligations under the AUKUS program.

Responsibilities

Development of formal nuclear managements arrangements and support processes/procedures that satisfy regulation and licensing demands

Identify and set the requirements for sub-contractor support into ASC to assist in the development of policies, arrangements, procedures and processes.

Manage, support and sign off sub-contractor deliverables through the phases of nuclear licensing

Contribute to the development and execution of the Engineering Capability strategy in support of the ASC Corporate strategy.

About you

Engineering qualifications and nuclear experience meeting the requirements of a Professional Engineer or similar including those with a trade based background with tertiary nuclear, mechanical and/or electrical SQEP

Demonstrated experience in SSN Nuclear Maintenance or applicable facilities operationi.e Civil Nuclear, highly regulated industry.

Some experience of safety management systems and radiological control activities.

Demonstrated experience in the application of engineering governance systems in highly regulated environments.

Demonstrated experience of successfully dealing with diverse stakeholders and achieving required outcomes in highly technical or regulated environments.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
