Job Summary We are seeking an experienced

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

to lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for precision metal components and assemblies. This role is essential in supporting high-tolerance machining, welding, and metal fabrication operations for

aerospace and defense applications . The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in large-scale metal manufacturing, process improvement, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Optimization

– Design and refine manufacturing processes for metal fabrication, machining, and welding to meet stringent industry tolerances.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

– Work closely with design, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to enhance production efficiency.

Continuous Improvement

– Lead process improvement initiatives to drive cost reduction, efficiency, and quality enhancements.

Equipment & Tooling Oversight

– Select, implement, and maintain machinery, tools, and fixtures for fabrication and machining operations.

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving

– Diagnose and resolve manufacturing challenges, including welding defects, machining inconsistencies, and equipment malfunctions.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

– Ensure adherence to industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements for

aerospace and defense

manufacturing.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

– Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses to support product development.

Training & Mentorship

– Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians in advanced manufacturing techniques.

Process Documentation

– Maintain detailed work instructions, process flows, and control plans.

Supplier & Vendor Coordination

– Source high-quality materials and components to support production requirements.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in

Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field .

Experience:

5+ years in manufacturing engineering, with expertise in

metal fabrication, welding, and machining

within

aerospace or defense industries .

Technical Skills

Proficiency in

CAD software

(e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with

CAM software

for machining.

Strong knowledge of

welding techniques

(TIG, MIG, resistance welding) in high-tolerance applications.

CNC programming, tool selection, and fixture design

for machining operations.

Understanding of

lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or similar process improvement strategies .

In-depth knowledge of

material properties and behaviors

for aerospace and defense applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

large-scale, high-tolerance fabrication and machining

for aerospace/defense products.

Background in

Department of Defense (DoD) or government-contracted manufacturing programs .

Knowledge of

automated welding systems

and

advanced machining technologies .

Certifications in

Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related methodologies .

Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
