Sr Analyst – Targeted Marketing
The Sr Analyst – Targeted Marketing is responsible for executing Michaels’ email marketing campaigns. High-level responsibilities include the day‑to‑day analysis of email performance and implementation of targeted marketing tactics, while collaborating with multiple business owners.
Responsibilities
Lead the end‑to‑end project management and execution of high‑volume, multi‑version email campaigns with a customer‑first focus, serving as the subject matter expert for deployment.
Flawlessly execute and manage highly complex, automated, and dynamic email programs, driving operational efficiency by leveraging advanced content automation tools and platform capabilities.
Own the execution of day‑to‑day operational tasks, including content planning, creative briefing, and asset coordination within a highly collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external partners, managing the delivery of campaign changes and conducting rigorous final testing to ensure a flawless consumer experience.
Drive process optimization by proactively identifying internal dependencies and potential operational impacts and making appropriate recommendations that lead to decreased deployment errors and increased efficiency.
Contribute significantly to annual email planning and strategy, including leading specific, complex initiatives that directly support organizational OKRs.
Leverage advanced analytical data and customer insights to develop and present data‑backed recommendations for improving email campaign performance and increasing channel ROI.
Maintain expert‑level knowledge of emerging email technologies, industry best practices, and trends (including data capture, customer analytics, and deliverability) to continually enhance customer experience.
Partner with Data Science to implement A/B tests and derive insights from experimentation results.
Cover a variety of operational and analytical duties and tasks on a daily basis or as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or relevant experience.
Minimum Experience 5+ years of email experience (development/execution) within a marketing team environment, preferably in retail. Experience managing high‑volume, multi‑version, and dynamic email campaigns.
Skills & Competencies • Ability to problem‑solve, manage multiple projects, and achieve successful business results rapidly. • Superior project management skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent team player with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the organization. • Ability to coordinate projects with both internal and external partners. • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity on multiple projects simultaneously with rapidly evolving dynamics and flexibility to readily adapt to changing business needs with a focus on generating results. • Self‑motivated team member, able to thrive in a fast‑paced, result and deadline‑driven environment. • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. • Certifications with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Movable Ink are a plus. • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Movable Ink.
