Vydia
Vydia is looking for a highly organized, detail-driven Royalties Analyst who is passionate about supporting artists and ensuring they get paid accurately and on time. In this role, you will play a critical part in the royalty lifecycle, processing and reviewing royalty statements, maintaining artist and label royalty accounts, reconciling artist advances and recoupments, and keeping detailed records of adjustments. You will also dive into sales and usage data, ensuring every allocation is in line with contract terms and industry standards.
This role reports directly to our Vice President of Global Royalties, giving you exposure to high-level operations while offering the chance to grow your expertise in a fast-moving, innovative company at the intersection of music and technology.
Candidate must be located in a Vydia-registered state, which includes: CA, FL, MA, NJ, NY, PA, IL, TN, or TX
Key Responsibilities
Administer the royalty system, ensuring accounts are accurately maintained, updated, and reviewed for timely statements and payments Review and track contractual royalty provisions to confirm accounts are coded with precision Analyze sales and usage data to properly allocate revenue Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accuracy and trust Conduct regular analyses of royalty earnings and distributions, delivering clear insights that support decision-making Maintain detailed and organized records of all expenses and adjustments for transparency Support the reconciliation of artist advances and monitor recoupment activity Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to manage inquiries effectively Prepare monthly revenue summaries, track KPIs, and generate ad hoc financial reports to provide visibility into performance Assist with the ingestion, tracking, and reconciliation of digital, physical, and publishing royalty statements Contribute to departmental projects and process improvements, taking on additional responsibilities as needed Qualifications
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field 2–3+ years of relevant analytical experience Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail High-level competency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and managing large datasets Nice-to-Haves
Previous royalty accounting or analyst experience at a major label, distributor, or music company Familiarity with music industry contracts and royalty structures Experience streamlining reporting processes or improving data workfows A passion for music and an interest in the business behind the art Reasons to work with us
