$50,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr . The program coordinator's responsibilities include promoting a recently funded project focused on increasing the adoption of conservation practices in wheat-based systems in Kansas to growers, and establishing a peer-to-peer network for technology demonstration.

Responsibilities

Organize contracting and deploy meetings with growers in diverse locations across Kansas to present the project to growers and certified crop advisors, and engage producers in the project.

Promote awareness of the project and project meetings across different venues to increase engagement among growers, including written articles, social media, audiovisual material, and Extension educational materials.

Coordinate the creation of an online educational program focused on conservation practices to build capacity in providing technical assistance to agricultural producers seeking adoption of conservation practices.

Build a peer-to-peer network of crop growers interested in testing and deploying conservation practices in wheat-based cropping systems.

Organize, advertise, deploy, and present at field days at farmer fields to demonstrate different technologies.

Organize and deploy other educational programs, such as winter crop schools, focused on educating growers about adoption of conservation practices.

Assist the project manager in enrolling growers into Farm Bill programs, including sign-up paperwork, drafting project development plans, or coordinating farm visits for one-on-one consultation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : Requires a bachelor's degree. Educational equivalency may be considered as determined by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor in Agronomy, Horticultural and Natural Resources, or related discipline; Experience developing and deploying conservation programs in agricultural settings; Experience in educational program development, farmer engagement, and networking.

Additional Licenses / Registrations / Certifications: NRCS technical service provider (TSP) certification or ability to obtain.

Sponsorship eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Work Arrangements: Some positions are eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements; on-site requirements may apply depending on role.
