Direct the Inventory Management functions of the Branch in accordance with established company policies and procedures by performing the following duties personally or through your direct reports in your department. Responsibilities
Manage the Daily Cycle Counting process to ensure the accuracy of the Inventory on site at the Branch. Manage daily inventory write-offs that occur in the warehouse, in both production shops, during the loading process at night and on the delivery trucks daily and the Lite-Depot so inventory is accurate daily in the branch. Set-up racks in the warehouse and all three production shops and the Lite Depot for branch employees to stage damaged or defective product daily. Attach an Inventory Adjustment sheet to the rack for the employee to list product; use the correct reason code on the sheet. Manage daily all the "zero find" ship tickets by conducting the due diligence needed to locate this product in the warehouse. Manage daily all the "zero find" KP work orders and WT's by conducting the due diligence needed to find this product in the warehouse. Manage Vendor Returns weekly with all vendors. Manage the ICZPN negative available report after any inventory adjustment is made in ICEPA or after a cycle count is updated in ICEPU. Manage daily all new SKUs coming into the branch and all existing SKUs to ensure that all products have bin locations assigned in both the primary and overstock positions as needed. Bin location management is essential. All stocked products must have a bin location including orders as needed and non-stock items. Manage non-stock products weekly and monthly. Use the color label program for non-stocks so it is easy to determine how long a non-stock has been in the branch based on a different color label per month. Conduct weekly inventory audits by row, by vendor, and by P-cat to ensure bin location accuracy for all SKUs in the branch. Manage the placement of product in the warehouse to maximize space utilization. Warehouse Transfer exception management. Use the GLRBT report or the WTRR report to manage warehouse transfer exceptions daily. Reports to be Managed Daily

Engage your team members and develop a comprehensive improvement plan; hold the team accountable for execution. Avoid wearing the fire suit daily. Develop, prioritize and execute plans with your team when issues arise. Schedule a daily huddle (5–10 minutes) with the Ops Manager, Warehouse Manager, Production Manager, and your team to discuss progress on the inventory management plan. Ensure team participation and ownership; emphasize teamwork to achieve success. Be prepared to adjust approaches to improve daily inventory management efficiency. Identify root causes of problems (e.g., damaged product in trucks, bin location issues, warehousing layout, stock discrepancies) and address them with a structured plan using the What-Who-How-When (WWHW) framework. Prioritize issues with input from the Ops Manager, assign ownership, and set timetables for completion. Start with the area needing the most attention and work toward building a world-class inventory operation. The Inventory Control Manager position is a challenging role at Woodgrain.
