Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP)
is a state‑of‑the‑art emergency psychiatry service. The CPEP provides multidisciplinary services to meet the needs of diverse clientele in an effective and least restrictive manner. The program has separate pediatric and adult waiting areas, patient interview rooms, a holding area, and six observation beds. Jacobi’s CPEP handles approximately 700 registrations per month and has an embedded Mobile Crisis Team performing up to 75 visits per month. Many patients receive follow‑up care within the continuum of inpatient, outpatient, and addiction services.
Opportunity Details
Be the primary psychiatrist in charge during overnight hours in our CPEP.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage acute psychiatric presentations.
Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in the electronic health record in a timely manner.
Coordinate disposition planning with Social Work, Physician Assistant, and other medical staff.
Document incidents with the treatment team.
Support psychiatric emergencies and crisis intervention during the shift.
Provide psychiatric consultation to the medical emergency room.
Deliver cutting‑edge, comprehensive, evidence‑based psychiatric care to patients in the CPEP.
Qualifications
NY state medical license.
ABMS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Graduate of an ACGME or AOA approved training program.
Wages and Benefits Include:
Annual Base Salary: $301,000 (board eligible); $311,000 (board certified) based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
401(k) Company Contribution: 3% contribution of base earnings immediately vested; 7% additional after one year of service.
