Responsibilities
Handle a caseload of Workers' Compensation claims against employers across various industries.
Manage deadlines and conduct depositions of parties, lay witnesses, medical providers, and experts.
Represent clients in mediations and draft briefs and motions.
Prepare for and conduct arguments in hearings before an administrative commission.
Perform legal analysis on new and existing claims, investigate cases, review medical records, develop case strategy, respond to discovery, draft motions, attend hearings, mediations, and negotiate settlements.
Build relationships with the HGKG attorneys, insurance adjusters, and risk managers; create and submit required reports, motions, briefs, and negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
Qualifications
Minimum 1+ year of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense Litigation.
Currently licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina.
Strong writing, deposition, and mediation experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, organized, and self‑motivated.
Work Environment
Indoor office setting.
Hybrid work arrangement after initial training period.
