Position: RN-ICU/PCU- Scottsbluff, NE Location : Scottsbluff, NE 69361 Project Duration : 13 weeks Shift :
3x12 (days & night)
Job Summary The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring, life-support, and complex interventions. The RN collaborates with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, safe, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide direct and continuous nursing care to critically ill or injured patients. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and laboratory data. Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products per physician orders. Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as cardiac arrests and code blues. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR). Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and recovery processes. Maintain infection control and safety protocols according to hospital policy and standards of care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff development programs.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable. Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska. Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred.
