EXTREME ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is looking for a Director of Hardware Engineering to develop solutions across a wide range of ruggedized products and applications. In this role, you will oversee all stages of development, from requirements and design, through implementation and verification, to continuing engineering and customer support. Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and direction for hardware engineering teams
Manage product development, innovation, and hardware engineering systems
Ensure rigorous design reviews, technical audits, and compliance with customer specifications and contract scope
Drive strategic initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to organizational leadership
Lead team development, foster an empowered culture, and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes
Required Qualifications
Ten or more (10+) years of engineering management experience with 20 years in engineering (preferred)
Bachelor’s or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field
Proven ability to manage engineering project development for customer-driven products as well as internally driven technology research and development projects
Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
Expertise in the oversight and optimization of engineering design tools including schematic capture, PCB design, drafting, 3D modeling, thermal management, and other related tools
Knowledge of software development tools and methods (Agile)
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and solve complex problems
Capable of mentoring and/or developing talent
Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently and independently
Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI
Desired Qualifications
Experience with embedded products form factors (VPX, COM Express, SOSA, VME, cPCI, ATCA)
Familiarity with military requirements (MIL-STD 810, 461, 464, 704, 1275, DO-160, 178)
Experience with product qualification (Shock/Vibe, Temp, Humidity, Altitude, EMI/EMC)
Familiarity with real time software operating systems (Linux, VxWorks)
Experience with embedded technologies (CPU, FPGA, Network, SSD, DDR, XMC, TPM, IPMC)
