Step into the role of Chief Engineer at Stag Lodge, one of Deer Valley’s premier ski-in/ski-out properties managed by East West Hospitality. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall management, safety, and operational excellence of all engineering, maintenance, and building systems at Stag Lodge. This role ensures the property’s infrastructure, mechanical systems, and owner/guest accommodations are maintained to the highest standards. The Chief Engineer leads a team of engineers and technicians, oversees capital and operating budgets, ensures compliance with safety and building codes, and drives a proactive culture of preventive maintenance and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy Provide strategic leadership of the Engineering Department, ensuring alignment with Stag Lodge standards and East West Hospitality’s vision. Mentor, coach, and develop engineering staff to foster engagement, accountability, and professional growth. Collaborate with the General Manager, HOA Board, and other department heads to support long-term capital planning and reserve studies. Operations & Maintenance Direct, coordinate, and evaluate daily engineering operations, including repair, maintenance, and installation of building systems, equipment, and grounds. Oversee utility systems, HVAC, boilers, pools/hot tubs, life-safety systems, and irrigation. Administer and enhance the Preventive Maintenance Program to reduce downtime and extend asset life. Ensure timely completion and quality of work orders, inspections, and owner/guest service requests. Compliance & Safety Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, building codes, fire safety, and environmental regulations. Develop and lead safety training programs, risk assessments, and emergency response protocols. Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and regulatory reporting. Financial & Administrative Manage departmental budgets, expenditures, and forecasting. Oversee vendor and contractor performance, ensuring quality and cost efficiency. Support capital project planning and execution with technical expertise and cost analysis. Review payroll, scheduling, and timekeeping for accuracy and efficiency. Collaboration & Service Serve as a visible leader across the property, coordinating with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams. Actively participate in HOA Board meetings, providing engineering updates and recommendations. Build strong relationships with owners, guests, and vendors by delivering professional, solutions-oriented service. Location:

Technical Expertise:

Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Experience:

5–7+ years of progressive leadership in engineering/facilities management, ideally within hospitality, resort, or HOA settings. Regulatory Knowledge:

Familiarity with OSHA standards, building codes, and safety/environmental compliance. Budgeting Skills:

Proven ability to manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and vendor contracts. Technology:

Proficiency in CMMS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Building Automation Systems (BAS). Education & Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). EPA Universal Certification for HVAC/Refrigerants (required). Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and OSHA 30-hour certification preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) or CMCA/AMS designation a plus.
