Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent. Pay: $22.75 per hour. Opening Date: 11‑03‑2025. Close Date: 11‑17‑2025.
Responsibilities
Manage court cases in a court of limited original jurisdiction.
File court documents and receipt of fines, fees, and bond payments; balance and reconcile daily cash receipts; prepare and make daily bank deposits.
Respond to inquiries from the legal, law enforcement community, and the public.
Research file status information in both automated and hard‑copy systems; gather data on parties, warrants, prior convictions, and driver’s licenses.
Enter case information into an automated case management system; create, maintain, and close hard‑copy case files.
Arrange service and mail to parties of a case.
Coordinate completion of court documents; monitor sentence deferment and probation compliance; review files for sentence deferments.
Maintain logs and records; prepare statistical reports.
Use computer software, including Excel, accounting and case management systems, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Work under stress and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in deadline‑driven environments.
Read and balance cash management reports; use office equipment and a calculator for billings.
Perform other duties as required to meet the operational needs of the Court.
Competencies / Qualifications The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge of legal terminology, jury service, filing methods, case processing, specialty court programs, research methodology, project management techniques, court fee accounting, court monitoring procedures, the Clerk’s Procedures Manual, Code of Ethics, State Language Access Policies, the Certified Language International Interpreting Line, and the general structure of the judiciary.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Work is performed in an office or court setting. A valid driver’s license and travel may be required. The work schedule may include overtime. Employees must regularly interact positively with co‑workers, clients, the public, judges, and justices.

Qualifications
Minimum: A high school diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of experience in court case processing, a legal secretarial or related field such as customer service, data processing, or banking/financial experience.
Additional post‑secondary education may substitute for up to one (1) year of experience. Thirty (30) semester hours equals one (1) year of experience.
Typing certification: Minimum 35 net words per minute issued within five (5) years.
May be requested to complete the NM Court Monitor Certification Examination.
