Environmental Project Manager
role at
HDR . We are looking for a leader who will manage environmental projects across Washington State, focusing on water resources, wastewater, and related infrastructure. This is an opportunity to shape community resilience and sustainability through responsible water management.
Responsibilities
Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline projects or large, routine infrastructure projects (environmental services) in Washington State.
Environmental and land use alternatives analyses and siting studies.
NEPA/SEPA documentation.
Federal, state, and local environmental and land use permit applications and permit acquisition.
Coordinate work of professional staff and balance the team throughout entire project development.
Establish client relationships and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
Track, maintain and share regulatory changes from federal and state governments.
Participate in reviews with governing agencies for compliance.
Conduct design development work sessions and contract documents with other staff.
Coordinate workload through entire project development and ensure completion of documents on schedule.
Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to stay within schedule and budget.
Work with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and company management as needed.
Collaborate with Water Business Group leadership and partners, WA ES&P BCL, and cross-sector teams to elevate practice and delivery.
Participate in the employee‑owned culture through in‑person home office attendance on a weekly basis.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Proven experience managing environmental review and permitting services for Water Resources, Wastewater or other Water Business Group related projects in the Pacific Northwest.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
7 years related experience.
A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
Ability to interact with various design teams and possess excellent organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills.
