This opportunity is suited for a provider who is excited to provide comprehensive care to high risk infants and their family members. Experience is preferred, but not required.

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is responsible for providing direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting and conducts medical histories, performs complete physical examinations, initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests and other special tests required for evaluation. Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed. May prescribe and monitor medications. Participates in medical team rounds and collaborates with physicians, nursing and other medical personnel. Educates patient families and answers questions regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards. Refers patients to specialists as appropriate. Our Advanced Practice Providers are a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary care team with advanced communication skills.

Assess, diagnose, and manage the care of critically ill neonates in the NICU

It’s anticipated that your first year of practice will be on campus of Creighton University Bergan Mercy Medical Center (a level III NICU). Once fully oriented, you may also provide care at CHI Lakeside Hospital (level III NICU) and CHI Immanuel Hospital (level II NICU)

Job Requirements

Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from accredited program

Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required

NE License required

BLS, PALS and NRP required
