Our client is a global manufacturer recognized for its engineering excellence and automation-driven production systems. With operations expanding across North America, they continue to invest in technology that enhances efficiency, safety, and product quality. They’re now seeking an Automation Engineer to support ongoing modernization and process improvement projects.
The Automation Engineer will design, program, and maintain PLC-based systems that support automated manufacturing operations. This role involves improving system performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, optimized processes. Experience with ladder logic programming is essential, and familiarity with robotics (Fanuc/Kawasaki) or SCADA systems is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement control systems to automate and enhance production processes.
Develop, modify, and optimize PLC programs to improve system performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues involving sensors, motors, drives, and other components.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
Identify and deliver process improvements that reduce downtime and enhance quality.
Maintain documentation and provide training or technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
Stay informed on new automation technologies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Preferred:
Support programming and integration of Fanuc or Kawasaki robots, and assist with ignition or SCADA systems.
We are looking for the following experience;
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
4+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
Strong PLC programming skills (Allen‑Bradley or similar platforms).
Understanding of automation hardware including sensors, actuators, and drives.
Solid troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of industrial safety standards.
Preferred:
Experience with Fanuc or Kawasaki robotics.
Exposure to ignition or SCADA systems.
Background in high‑precision manufacturing.
