The individual will be required to direct hourly employees in all disciplines of Non-Nuclear Quality Assurance Inspection. This will include both shop and shipboard systems, surveillance and NDT inspections. The candidate will be required to work with the Learning Management System in order to monitor and maintain inspector training qualifications and NDT proficiency. The successful candidate must be familiar with non-nuclear inspection procedures, practices, and inspection record systems within structural, mechanical, piping and shop fabrication and installation areas. The ability to interpret specifications and procedures is critical. The candidate must understand inspector training as required by specification and/or department requirements. The candidate will lead a number of hourly employees, ensuring these inspectors support operations, while maintaining the standards and requirements of our procedures and specifications. The successful candidate must be available to work all shifts and weekends, as required. Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or GED Current or previous employee of Quality or Operations with at least 1 year of Supervisory experience Certification or knowledge in at least one NDT discipline Individual must have at least 4 years of Electric Boat experience and/or US Navy Shipboard experience Familiar with all Microsoft Suite applications Familiarity with EB Business systems (Cornerstone, ATA, Concur, 3G, 7G, etc) Preferred Previous experience in the various disciplines of Inspection and performance of inspections to the applicable shipyard procedures Combination of experience in new construction and overhaul work A working knowledge of the shipyard re-entry process, JCALS, ERS, etc. 4+ years of previous supervisory experience Skills
This position requires strong written and oral communication skills. Present or previous qualifications in various NDT methods (MT, PT, ET, UT and VT) and/or NACE certification is a plus. Familiar with all Microsoft Suite applications Physical Qualifications
