C-12/King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) - FT. Eustis, VA
Full‑time position.
Responsibilities
Valid (FAA) A&P certificate required.
US Army C-12 and/or King Air B200/350/1900 mechanic hands‑on maintenance experience required.
US citizenship required for US Gov Secret Security Clearance and facility and base access.
Service, troubleshoot, repair and modify aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
Perform tasks on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun and drills.
Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738‑751.
Ensure aircraft discrepancies are recorded per approved maintenance procedures and contract terms.
Understand functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
Perform engine run or taxi operations; meet certification requirement within 12 months of employment.
Read and interpret manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Shift work may be required; be willing and able to work any shift and hours assigned.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School degree or GED equivalent.
A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate compliant with FAR 65.83 and recent experience requirements.
Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience as an FAA A&P Mechanic; with Two (2) years of hands‑on C-12/King Air experience preferred for entry‑level AM‑1 Mechanic.
AM‑2 Mechanic requires Two (2) years as an FAA A&P Mechanic and a minimum of Five (5) years hands‑on C‑12/King Air experience.
AM‑3 Mechanics require a minimum of Ten (10) years of FAA A&P experience and Thirteen (13) years hands‑on C‑12/King Air mechanic experience.
Valid driver’s license required.
Mechanic tools must be provided by the candidate (tools and toolbox each etched with mechanic PID).
Ability to obtain a valid US passport if overseas travel (OCONUS/Tdy) is required.
Physical ability to move freely in the interior and unpressurized aft area and meet aircraft specific weight limits.
Willing and able to work and rotate for a multiple‑shift operation (currently one shift M‑F 40 hours a week).
A&P Mechanic Pre‑employment Medical Requirements
Medical/Physical: All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self‑propelled support equipment within ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional before conducting these operations and periodically thereafter, no longer than five (5) years.
BMI below forty (40) required.
Security Clearance Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Gov Secret Security Clearance; US citizenship required for clearance and facility/base access.
Physical and Additional Qualifications
Physical ability to stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods.
Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
Comply with written customer and company maintenance and logistics procedures and policies.
Comply with FAA regulations as applicable.
Possess a valid FAA A&P license compliant with FAR 65.83.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Reliable, self‑motivated, able to handle stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non‑confrontational attitude.
