Purpose of Assignment Provide targeted partnerships and advocacy management support to the PFP MSP team on mental health, advancing UNICEF’s strategic objectives and the goals of the Global Coalition for Youth Mental Health.
Scope of Work The consultant will support the Coalition to strengthen its role as a leading platform for collective action on youth mental health through advocacy and partnerships, focusing on four key areas:
Membership stewardship – engage, support, and connect members.
Membership growth – identify and onboard new partners.
Advocacy strategy – develop products, organise joint initiatives, and influence policy agendas.
Communication – produce storytelling and visibility strategies.
Work Assignments
Organise Coalition quarterly meeting.
Lead reporting for the annual Coalition report.
Prepare and promote the Coalition annual report.
Lead organisation of the Coalition annual meeting.
Plan and coordinate Mental Health Awareness Month activities.
Support National Committees for Mental Health Awareness Month.
Develop the second annual insights study.
Produce advocacy strategy for UNGA and World Mental Health Day.
Provide logistics and event management for UNGA.
Implement activation for World Mental Health Day.
Develop initial plan and strategy for the Coalition Annual Meeting.

By 31 Dec 2025:
Engage members and plan meeting agenda; facilitate meeting with objectives and outcomes.
By 31 Jan 2026:
Gather and analyse coalition‑wide data; produce concise annual report.
By 28 Feb 2026:
Finalise and publish the Coalition Annual Report; support dissemination.
By 31 Mar 2026:
Lead organisation of the Coalition Annual Meeting; produce meeting report.
By 30 Apr 2026:
Finalise calendar for Mental Health Awareness Month; develop toolkit for members.
By 31 May 2026:
Provide guidance for National Committees’ activations; produce activation report.
By 30 Jun 2026:
Draft first annual insights study framework; collect baseline data.
By 31 Jul 2026:
Engage NCs and coalition members for insights study; draft analysis.
By 31 Aug 2026:
Produce final advocacy strategy for UNGA and World Mental Health Day.
By 30 Sep 2026:
Develop logistics plan for UNGA; prepare post‑event report.
By 31 Oct 2026:
Lead activation for World Mental Health Day; prepare post‑activation report.
By 30 Nov 2026:
Conduct consultation with members; produce initial plan for Coalition Annual Meeting 2027.
Consultant’s Workplace & Official Travel
Remote/home‑based; travel on need basis covered by UNICEF under the travel policy.
All travel requires prior written approval and compliance with UNICEF rules.
Consultant must hold a valid UN BSAFE certificate and travel insurance.
Qualifications Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in International Relations, Economics, Social Sciences, Business or related fields.
Alternative: Bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of relevant work experience.
Experience
Minimum five years of progressive experience in partnerships, communication, and/or advocacy; experience writing advocacy content.
Experience in mental health or public health is an asset.
Experience with business or responsible business initiatives, engaging diverse audiences, is a distinct advantage.
Prior communications/PR experience with UN/UNICEF or similar is an asset.
Language
Fluency in English required; knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
Additional Requirements
Provide two written work samples (reports, thought leadership, blog). Applications without two samples will not be considered.
Indicate all‑inclusive lump‑sum fees for deliverables, including administrative and travel costs, in cover letter.
