Overview The Sr. Supervisor, Manufacturing oversees a smaller manufacturing operation and/or technical group. The role executes assignments of high complexity and develops solutions for defined problems to meet objectives in accordance with cGMP, safety regulations and the production schedule. The supervisor analyzes processes and operations to develop and execute plans that align departmental and business objectives, may provide input on budgeting, and ensures spending is controlled through budgetary approvals. They promote, champion, and lead employee awareness of company, department and site goals, expectations, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Manage daily activities associated with the production plan for an assigned area.
Serve as SME with partner groups (e.g., Maintenance, Quality, Tech Doc Support, Research) and address complex process deviations, documentation errors, etc.
Lead the planning and organization of job assignments for an assigned area in accordance with cGMP, safety regulations and production schedule.
May oversee Training and Documentation Manufacturing functions.
Manage direct reports at the Supervisor and Technical Support level.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive production performance.
Provide input on budget planning for area of responsibility.
Authorize approved expenditures based on guidelines (e.g., purchase orders, invoices).
Ensure HES and quality compliance.
Review, author and execute ETPs as required.
Provide input or lead various project initiatives (e.g., new technology).
Participate and provide input on employee disciplinary outcomes for high-level infractions with senior management.
Promote, champion, and lead employee awareness of company, department and site goals, expectations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, lead teams, promote a positive and thriving team environment, troubleshoot and provide sound solutions for complex process‑related matters.
Schedule 1st shift, Monday‑Friday.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree plus 5 years of proven technical/project management and leadership experience in a FDA, USDA environment, or Masters degree plus 3 years of similar experience.
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in lieu of the stated requirements (e.g., equivalent experience or education per listed categories).
Occupational Demands Work is performed in an office and/or a laboratory/manufacturing environment. Exposure to biological fluids, potential infectious organisms, electrical office equipment, extreme cold below 32°F, production chemicals, moving machinery, high noise levels, and need for personal protective equipment (protective eyewear, garments, gloves). The role requires frequent sitting (4‑6 hours per day), hand movements, occasional walking, standing, bending, twisting, light to moderate lifting up to 35 lbs, and occasional driving to other facilities.
