Responsibilities The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for shift coverage and must possess strong trouble‑shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front‑of‑house areas, as well as back‑of‑house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required. A minimum of 5‑years building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred. A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life‑safety systems, is required. Good communication skills and strong leadership abilities are necessary, along with a willingness to work different shifts as business demands.
Basic Job Duties and Expectations
Responds to guest request calls
Performs routine public area and guest room repairs
Performs minor mechanical, plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs in guest rooms
Occasionally required to paint as part of repairs to areas where work was performed
Assists engineering department and hotel through awareness and participation in energy management program
Creates and submits purchase requisitions for approval and maintains adequate stock of tools and materials needed to perform job duties; maintains inventory of parts and tools
Cleans and maintains work areas as required
Acts as part of the emergency response team at the hotel, as necessary, in the event of an emergency; responds to any trouble calls or codes (1–4)
Assists with set up of equipment for special events
May assist in providing direction to employees of classification Engineer A
Maintains maintenance log and records
