In this role, you will be responsible for leading and directing a team with a proven record of successful projects and managing large complex projects or multiple projects while overseeing the work of one or more project managers.

Responsibilities

Partner with project directors in responding to RFPs including the preparation of conceptual estimates, schedules, and other proposal documents. Participate in client presentations if required.

Participate in design review meetings and provide input regarding constructability, scope, and cost changes; monitor progress of design documents.

Prepare detailed estimates, cost code input, and cost control systems.

Prepare bid packages and invitation to bid inquiries, receive and analyze bids, qualify subcontractors, and award subcontracts and major purchase orders.

Work with the director of construction and construction core personnel to establish job organization including the superintendent and PCE requirements.

Plan, sequence, and schedule the project with input from the superintendent and subcontractors; direct the project schedule, conduct job site meetings, and prepare updated schedules.

Responsible for project cost control including updating labor cost reports, summary cost reports, and project status summaries.

Direct requirements of governing authorities for permits, inspections, and final approval of the project with A/E.

Maintain submittal control, including scheduling, receiving, reviewing, approving, and expediting submittals from suppliers and subcontractors to comply with the progress schedule.

Effectively manage client relations, including progress meetings, correspondence, periodic reports, change orders, and responses to client inquiries.

Maximize project cash flow through invoicing and collections; prepare requisitions for payment and other required project invoicing.

Prepare and secure owner acceptance of contract change orders; issue modifications to subcontracts and purchase orders after owner acceptance and update budget in the summary cost report.

Manage and ensure payments to subcontractors and vendors, including reviewing and approving schedules of value, pay requisitions, invoices, and required insurance coverage.

Manage subcontractor and supplier performance issues including documentation, default notices, and replacement if necessary.

Review and monitor project progress, quality and safety; work with the superintendent and make corrections as required to comply with contract and company policy and procedures.

Actively involved in the development of construction personnel through mentoring and on‑job training, including performance management.

Effectively direct project close‑out tasks and any warranty work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent plus 10 years or more of experience in construction, design or management.

Specific knowledge of Food and Beverage Processing, Distribution, & Manufacturing Projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield projects with hygienic tubing installation, weld criteria, pumps, tanks, blending, and mixing for dry and wet manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of MEP systems required to operate manufacturing equipment; specifically chilled water, water treatment, boilers, main power and branch power distribution systems, fire protection, controls, plumbing, and wastewater.

Experience developing executable project plans while integrating with planning and development, sourcing, scheduling, project management, field leadership, and cross‑discipline construction teams.

Expertise in managing resources, including budgets, schedules, and materials in an environment of multiple, competing demands.

Knowledge of estimating, construction methods, engineering, equipment, and technology.

Excellent understanding of safety procedures.

Excellent organizational, supervisory, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Ability to travel per project requirements.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10–50 pounds. Requires good hand‑eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
