Principal Network Engineer IS, Voice and Unified Communications (UC) — Virtual Join to apply for the Principal Network Engineer IS, Voice and Unified Communications (UC) role at Providence Health & Services. This role specializes in design, operation, and enhancement of large-scale voice and UC services for IS, non-IS, and clinical caregivers. Travel may be required to support initiatives and implementations. Responsibilities

Design, operate, and enhance large-scale Voice and Unified Communications (UC) systems. Integrate legacy systems to ensure seamless and optimized performance. Provide top-tier support in complex environments; drive innovation and efficiency in voice-related technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders across IS to translate requirements into service architecture that meets QoS expectations. Lead and represent the service in backlog discussions and standups to establish appropriate prioritization of Live Site requirements. Utilize data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions; apply root-cause analysis for problem solving. Mentor and influence engineering team members and support staff. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience 8 or more years of related experience Strong automation experience related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes Scripting experience: PowerShell, Perl, Ansible, VB Script, Python, or SQL Strong experience with n-tier solutions Strong experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and simulating outages for point solutions and platforms Strong experience translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture to meet QoS expectations Strong experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups Strong experience leveraging data/metrics to drive decisions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with systematic approaches and root-cause analysis Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent 8+ years hands-on experience with Avaya Enterprise UC technologies in a multi-data center environment 4+ years hands-on experience with Cisco in a multi-data center environment Proficiency with Cisco UCS technologies (Call Manager, CUBE, Unity, WebEx Calling, Voice Gateways) Experience with Avaya hardware/tech (Communication Manager, Aura Messaging, Session Manager) Experience with Oracle SBC in large-scale enterprise Deep knowledge of VoIP networking (SIP, carrier-based solutions) Experience with monitoring/telemetry tools (SNMP, Syslog, Wireshark) Cloud/networking certifications, CCNP Collaboration preferred Experience migrating legacy PBX/voice to Cisco Cloud UCM and SIP Experience supporting faxing over SIP/H.323 Familiarity with CDR systems and SIP log aggregation Proficiency in voice testing, load tools, and call-quality measurement tools Strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills; broad IT/business understanding Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and consensus-building skills In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, practices, and procedures Salary Range by Location
