Position Overview The Telecommunications Project Lead works on various projects as assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer. The role spans the entire design process for data center buildings, including structured cabling systems, wireless, audio‑visual, and other low‑voltage systems. The successful candidate will coordinate with cross‑disciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time.

Responsibilities

Conduct preliminary assessments and concept creation.

Lead design development with support from peers, SMEs, and BIM designers.

Create and modify DIV 27 specifications.

Lead BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings.

Perform site visits and review technical documents.

Resolve internal and external problems.

Produce drawings and specifications.

Ensure customer and vendor accessibility.

Maintain project schedules and budgets.

Identify and mitigate project risks.

Serve as a technical design leader and mentor junior team members.

Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum 4 years of experience designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems.

Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.

Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to telecommunications structured cabling systems.

Familiarity with Navisworks.

Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.

Excellent project management skills.

Experience responding to RFPs.

Experience creating and maintaining a project budget.

Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule.

Experience identifying and mitigating company risk.

Credential as an RCDD or ability to attain it within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with other low‑voltage systems such as security, audio‑visual, wireless.

Electrical engineering degree or related discipline.
