Summary: Temporary Employment Services is hiring a Clinical Research Assistant to support Alzheimer’s research. Responsibilities
Recruit participants, conduct outreach to the community, provide participant education, screen and enroll participants, schedule visits, and conduct study visit assessments. Assist with participant interactions during lab-based training visits involving physical activity and virtual reality experiences; explain processes, answer questions, and ensure participant comfort and safety. Create, maintain, and update study databases; support daily procedures related to analyses for publication and presentation preparation. Assist with creating informational and recruitment materials and liaise with other UCSD departments and agencies as needed. Provide education and information to the general public concerning the ongoing clinical trial; assist with other project and miscellaneous duties as required. Qualifications
Theoretical knowledge of psychology generally acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of clinical neurosciences and cognitive neuroscience, primarily in patients with cognitive impairment. Strong computer skills (PC and Macintosh); familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, email software, and databases. Proficiency with Linux OS, Adobe, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word). Excellent record keeping, database management, detail oriented, logical, methodological approach to problem solving, strong process orientation, and strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines. Knowledge of human subjects research policies and procedures, including consent processes and federal regulations; online training certificates; knowledge of IRB and sponsored research requirements. Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and seek guidance when appropriate. Ability to maintain and protect confidentiality of participant information with knowledge of mandated reporting procedures. Experience with recruitment of underserved communities or related experience. Experience collecting, coding, and scoring data using computerized measures per study protocol. Experience with online and phone screens of participants. Experience administering neurocognitive and behavioral assessments and detailed clinical interviews. Previous experience in a clinical research setting; proven effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English. Special Conditions
