Motorsports Publications Manager
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a MTS Publications Manager to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA. The MTS Publications Manager leads the MTS Publications department, overseeing staff to ensure efficient operations that support core revenue streams. Serving as Design Lead on major projects, this role conceptualizes layouts, provides creative direction, supplies assets, and guides projects to completion while actively participating in design and production. The MTS Publications Manager coordinates and directs graphic design staff, assists the National Service Manager with project delegation, maintains/develops key external vendor relationships (i.e. Snap-On, Oracle Knowledge, etc.) and supports the implementation of overall business objectives. They establish controls to maintain and improve production efficiency and quality, manage the various portfolios, and ensure payments for key projects are processed and distributed across the appropriate departments.
What you'll be doing:
Lead and manage the MTS Publications department, including overseeing the MTS Publications Supervisor and/or design staff, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
Direct the department’s graphic design projects by setting priorities, assigning tasks, and ensuring creative standards are met, while maintaining focus on broader departmental leadership and operational goals.
Manage and oversee multi‑million‑dollar revenue streams generated through Business Ops fees and Crestec partnerships, ensuring financial targets are met and supporting sustained business growth.
Serve as the Design Lead on major projects, including conceptualizing layouts, providing creative direction, and supplying assets for production.
Collaborate with the National Service Manager to facilitate projects and drive the successful implementation of business objectives.
Assist in coordinating and preparing all needed production schedules (calendars) for typesetting, photography, illustration, layout, and print time. Coordinate pre‑press, press check, and print schedules.
Manage multiple portfolios by allocating resources, identifying the most cost‑effective approaches for projects, tracking deadlines, and overseeing the accurate and timely processing and distribution of payments across departments for key initiatives.
Provide technical support and guidance to design staff, including the Virtual Ticket application, troubleshooting software and system issues, facilitating training, and delivering resources to enhance team capabilities and performance.
Make strategic decisions to manage and develop Publications staff, ensuring alignment with department and organizational goals.
Lead or support the preparation and execution of staff performance appraisals in collaboration with the supervisor.
Address staff performance and conduct issues, administering disciplinary actions as needed in alignment with company policies.
Evaluate staff training needs and ensure necessary development opportunities are provided.
What you need to be successful:
Associate’s degree in Graphic Design and/or equivalent combination of education and on‑the‑job experience.
10+ years of graphic design experience.
5+ years in the Powersports Industry or dealership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge and experience working on the MAC platform and most major design applications (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and layout/publication programs.
Excellent illustrator drawing skills.
Must have strong knowledge of print and production processes.
